An airsoft LiPo charger can be used to charge your airsoft rifle. The type of battery that is used is dependent upon the amount of energy that the charging system has to absorb in order to start the battery charging cycle. Many airsoft players are surprised to find out that they're charging system will not charge their batteries the same way that other battery systems do. In order to ensure that you get your battery charged properly, you need to know the different types of charging systems that are available for your rifle.
The first type of charging system for a LiPo system is the standard type. The basic function of this type of charging system is to put your battery into the lowest possible state before it is allowed to become fully charged. To do this, a high-powered DC current is required in order to turn the battery into its "charged" state. This type of charger can be expensive and can easily damage the battery if it is not used correctly. A better option would be a charging device known as the universal voltage regulator, which allows you to charge your LiPo batteries to their highest level without any risk of damaging them.
Another type of charging system that is available for a LiPo system is a low power NiMH battery charging system. These batteries use a nickel-cadmium cell and are much cheaper to purchase and use than the standard NiCad batteries. Because of their small size, they do not require a constant current to turn them into their "charged" state. Unfortunately, these types of batteries often lose the ability to charge when exposed to extreme temperatures. When using these batteries in an airport environment, you will need a protection device such as the NiMH Air Soft Battery Protector or a NiMH Airsoft LiPo Charger.
